Rubin Carter R was bred by Grand Prix, self-produced, dressage rider Carolyn Begg from Taree NSW. Carolyn feels this is her dream horse but unfortunately the age of the rider and the age of the horse are no longer really compatible.
Carolyn bred Rubin from her mare Oberon Whinzal who Carolyn describes as the most beautiful mare that ever looked through a bridle. Whinzal is also t dam of Ecclesbourne who with Teresa Grills is now winning Prix St Georges and Intermediate I in serious company. Oberon Whinzal does carry some very interesting bloodlines in Weltmeyer and Salute. On the dam’s side of Oberon Whinzal is Emperor Oberon who was a Cleveland Bay stallion. Emperor Oberon was the sire of Carloyn Begg’s Grand Prix mare Atalanta and this mare with Carolyn could piaffe and passage stupendously.
The sire of Rubin Carter R is Royal Hit (dec). The Royal Hits are fabulous moving youngsters and beautiful types. Royal Hit carries the Rubinstein bloodlines and his mother Loretta is also the dam of Sandro Hit and Diamond Hit. These are very famous stallions.
Rubin Carter R has a massive overtrack in the walk, huge swinging trot and a canter with great balance and rhythm. Rubin Carter R does have a very correct outline and does carry his head naturally well and very steadily. This is definitely a serious horse for the future.
